Geometry 101

Sure, you can wear solids and you can wear prints - but have you ever thought about wearing math? We're talking about geometry - shapes and patterns in bold colors reminiscent of the building blocks you played with as a kid.

Think back to elementary school math class - remember rhombuses, triangles, polygons and squares? They're the perfect pattern for a modern gown that's classic and contemporary at the same time. If you're looking for a bold dress that's as sexy as it is playful, a geometric pattern could be just the ticket.

But geometry in fashion isn't just limited to prints and designs - it can be a part of the fabric itself. Some fabrics have inherent geometry, like gingham and houndstooth, while others can be sewn into a unique structure with frills, fringes and other details to give the illusion of architecture.

Math-inspired patterns are an easy way to combine elegance with fashion-forward thinking, so consider wearing one to your next formal event.
