Finding the right accents to pair with your patterned dress

While some ladies may look at a patterned dress and think that it will be limiting to their accessory and footwear choices, this simply isn't the case. Even with the most unconventional pattern, there are ways for fashionistas to build off of a certain hue or create their own aesthetic with a few well-placed accessories.

A good rule of thumb when picking out accents for your formal dress is to choose a specific hue and run with it. For instance, if you have a purple, pink and black dress, you can use the neutral hue to build around your cute cocktail dress. Throw on a black belt, pair it with black heels and use a black cuff bracelet to add an unexpected touch of contrast.

On the other hand, if you have evening dresses that have no clear-cut neutral hue, pick your favorite color and incorporate it into the rest of your style choices. Pairing similarly colored earrings, necklaces and cocktail rings can create a dynamic and streamlined ensemble.

Patterned dresses are chic choices for the fall, but be sure to take a good hard look at your new outfit to decide how to bring out the best in your new purchase.
