Kate the great

The always elegant Kate Winslet proved her grace once again at the Yo Dona Awards as she walked the carpet looking fierce in an all black high-necked, floor-length gown.

Kate pulled out all the stops in this outfit. The modest silhouette and long sleeves made her look sleek and chic, while the built-in stud embellished waist piece cinched her in, making her look teeny-tiny.

Paired with a metallic clutch, which added a hint of a modern industrial feel, Kate was a knock-out for sure.

Simple earrings and her hair pulled back into a bun let her glowing face really stand out. Smoky eyes and a nude gloss kept her looking fresh and young amongst the ladies in attendance.

This look would make any woman feel great as it hugs all the right areas - your waist and chest - while flowing gracefully away from the hips. The long sleeves leave you feeling comfortable and the high-neck works to create an elegant shape. This gown must be worn somewhere you're sure to be seen as the style and oh-so-good design will give you the confidence you already feel on the inside.

Pretty in pink

Pink has been a classic prom staple for as long as we can remember, but we fall in love with it again and again every time we see it worn in a fresh and novel way. The new blushing princess who has won our affections? Ashley Greene, who rocked the softest gown you can imagine to the Hollywood premiere of her new movie, Skateland.

Not only did the dress inspire us thanks to its barely-there hue of pale, pale pink, but its one-shouldered, Grecian-inspired silhouette made it something else altogether. The gown left one of Greene's shoulders bare as the other flaunted a romantic full-length sleeve, and the softly-cascading hem only capped off the fairytale allure of her ensemble. With a smart coral manicure and soft, loose waves, Greene was the picture of a modern-day princess.

Fortunately for girls everywhere, pink isn't about to go anywhere fast. Find the hue and silhouette that makes you feel your feminine best for a look that's always classic yet unique enough for your individual style.

Emma Watson continues to dazzle on the red carpet for Harry Potter premiere

Last week, the entire fashion world was abuzz when Emma Watson stepped onto the red carpet for the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 in London. At last night's debut in New York City, Watson continued to keep the fashion world on their toes by breaking out a ravishing golden outfit that looked absolutely fabulous.

Watson's formal dress was a combination of flowing fabric and form-fitting style that seemed to push all the right buttons. Her bodice was a light copper color and the entire tail of the dress was an impressive iridescent gilded hue.

To top off her look, Watson used some silver teardrop earrings and gave her eyes a quick bit of black eyeliner that was blended with mauve eyeshadow. This combination of casual makeup styles and her opulent dress was a match made in heaven.

Whether you're sporting a short dress or a formal number, your accessories and your makeup choices are what can really pull your outfit together. If you're wearing a gold dress like Watson's go with some metallic shades to add a shimmering sparkle to your ensemble.

Emma Watson at Harry Potter London Premiere

Emma Watson's red carpet style has been called tame and toned down over the past few years, but for the finale of the Harry Potter movies, she decided to take it to a different level. Watson wore a gorgeous designer formal gown with an embroidered bodice and an enchanting skirt.

Watson was one of the biggest highlights of the Harry Potter premiere, and showed how simple it can be to take a gorgeous dress and make it the star of one's ensemble. The silver bodice was bedazzled with sparkling embellishments and the full-length skirt was a delightful mix of materials that made her look like a princess instead of a wizard!

As for accessory choices, Watson kept it simple by wearing some silver teardrop earrings to match beautifully with her dress. With her priceless smile and scintillating formal dress, she was the belle of the ball.

A strapless dress worn during a night out often is at its best when combined with some dangling earrings and a few bracelets for contrast. With this gorgeous mix of sparkling materials and textured fabrics, a formal outfit takes a lot less work than you may think.

Reese Witherspoon sports some warm colors to meet the future queen

Some of the biggest names in Hollywood turned out to rub shoulders with the newlywed royals this past weekend, so it was no surprise that celebs were pulling out all of their fashion punches. Reese Witherspoon was the perfect ambassador to greet Catherine, the Dutchess of Cambridge, and she sported one of the season's hottest color choices.

Witherspoon opted for a coral short dress that had a bit of a strawberry tinge which made it a perfect choice for the gorgeous California weather. What made her dress stand out was the ruffled fabric that went up the length of the bodice that added some texture to her outfit and allowing her to keep it classy.

Below this bit of fabric was a small cinched belt was sewn into the dress that allowed Reese to show off her spectacular figure. She topped off her outfit by sporting a gold bracelet and wore some single-strap tan high-heel sandals that were a spectacular choice for the garden party she was attending.

Gold accessories are always a chic choice when you're wearing warm colors, so try a few gilded bangles and some teardrop earrings to add an enchanting sparkle.

Bows: The summer edition

We have little doubt that many of you rocked a mighty fine bow during the winter holiday season, but have you ever considered what an epic delight they can be during the balmy nights of summer?

Just ask Gisele Bundchen, who rocked a seriously sexy cocktail dress to AFI's Life Achievement Awards in California. The metallic pewter spaghetti-strap gown featured a decadent array of floral patterns, which decorated her figure in the form of a plunging neckline and trailing mermaid hem. To provide a delightful pop for the eye, Gisele topped it all off with a bright fuchsia bow around her waist.

Even bows that have no intention of blending in to the rest of your ensemble are entirely de rigeur this summer, and we can't get over how appealing Miss Bundchen looked in hers. Don't be afraid to make this detail pop, whether you wear it around your waist, on your shoulder strap, in the back or in another totally unexpected place.

Katie Holmes shows off her fabulous fashion

Katie Holmes showed off her version of the sexy little black dress during the Los Angeles premiere of her new film "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark." Mrs. Cruise rocked a backless v-neck design with a full ruffled skirt, which showed off her fit figure and her fun side.

The dress looked fabulous on her long frame as it worked to show off her long legs and her toned body as a whole. The backless design added to the sexy and comfortable vibe. The thick band around her waist kept the actress and supermom looking svelte.

Paired with a pair of camel pointed-toe heels, two thin bangles and a simple necklace, Katie kept the look charming and effortless. She chose to go heavy on the eye makeup - smokey with exaggerated eye-liner, while her bronze glowing skin completed this sassy and sophisticated ensemble. Katie also kept the look fun as her straight hair made this seem like a no-fuss kind of a night.

Achieving this look will make any woman feel great, as the backless design is sexy yet not too showy and the shape of the dress - fitted through the top and flared through the hips - works to create an hourglass shape for all women. The black undoubtedly keeps the look sexy and fabulous, but if you're feeling a bit more wild - pair the look with a bright colored heel and add some blinged-out bangles for a night out dancing.

This summer, bloom away

April showers may have brought May flowers, but the power of a bloom-inspired dress is bound to turn heads all through summer. Making this statement an incontrovertible fact is Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who looked picture-perfect in a floral-detailed dress at the Moscow International Film Festival.

Whiteley continued her habit of showing off those towering legs in a black leotard and sheer, floor-length skirt combo similar to the one she was spotted in recently. She paired it off with an elaborate yellow-green chiffon top, which was composed of a one-shouldered neckline adorned with oversized blooms. The sheer, gauzy ensemble practically floated about her figure, which rested tall on a pair of decadent stilettos.

Rosie's look is certainly a unique way to pull off a floral accent, but there's an infinite array of options available to ladies for the summer. If you feel like everything's coming up roses, why not let the world know with a painterly floral print, soft floral details or abstract appliques?

All that glitters is black and sequiny

There's nothing quite like getting dressed up for a night under the stars - unless you're decked out in a material that practically reflects the night sky back at you. Kelly Ripa was the latest A-lister to demonstrate just how glamorous a black sequined dress can be.

Ripa showed up to the Trevor Live event in New York City recently wearing a black beaded shift that was all aglimmer in patterned sequins. Beyond the glitz and glam, the dress added a bit of unconventional appeal to Ripa's look thanks to its rather hard-to-pin-down silhouette. The asymmetrical cut featured a single panel from neck to thigh, which wrapped around and created a mismatched seam near her side. Paired with black pumps and diamond jewelry, Ripa's ensemble was fit for the stars.

No matter if you like your hem long or short, a black sequined dress is just the thing to carry you through all of your formal summer events. Both versatile and easy to accessorize, these glitzy numbers are universally flattering for ladies worldwide.

Tangerine Queen

Beyonce showed off her fabulous fashion while shopping in London's famed Harrods department store. The signer was in town to perform at the Glastonbury music festival, where she rocked the house.

Beyonce dressed up her shopping trip by wearing a tangerine toned short sleeved dress that was fitted and came down to her knees. The design also boasted a peplum aspect that exaggerated her hips and added a bit of depth to a dress that could have otherwise been worn to tea with the Queen.

Her hot red nails and wild curls gave the demure look a bit of edge, and she looked like she was really enjoying herself playing up the cameras. Her gorgeous features required little makeup as this fresh faced beauty continued on her way shopping in style.

This look would be best worn to a more formal get-together such as a family brunch or an evening out with the in-laws in the city. The tangerine color is great for summer and adds a bit of fun to this more uptight design. Take advice from Beyonce and be yourself in this style of dress by adding elements of "you" through your hair style, your makeup, or even your shoes.
