A black and white dress can be your ultimate fix

Let us say this plain and simple - if you're looking for a timelessly elegant way to tie together your look at your upcoming prom, black and white can serve you like no other fashion trend ever has.

Eva Longoria demonstrated this all too well at the Grammy Awards when she showed up wearing a black and white minidress featuring sleek satin ruffles.

The top half consisted of black shiny fabric that created a sort of halter around her neck and draped over her waist, topping a cream-colored mini skirt that boasted just a little ruffle or two. She finished it all off with matching shiny black platform pumps and a black clutch.

Girls who are starting their prom-dress shopping may very well be keen on the cut and texture of Eva's dress, but the black and white motif can be incorporated in a large variety of ways to universally flatter all. Wearing a black and white ankle-length cocktail dress or a full-bodied ball gown can be equally fitting depending on your preferences.
